-Craigmore cleans up with 50% growth in sales-

Northern Ireland’s leading supplier of Karcher equipment, Craigmore, has reported a sales growth of almost 50 per cent over the past 2 years.

The family-run business which operates the largest Karcher Centre in Ireland and the second largest in the UK, attributes the increase to online development, with web sales alone growing from £15k to over £85k per month.

Located in Portadown, the Craigmore team has grown from 12 staff in 2015 to 16 in 2017 with a further two new staff joining in June this year.

Geoff Baird, Managing Director of Craigmore said: “We are thrilled at our growth figures which are down to the fantastic work of our team – in particular our internet department have done a brilliant job at presenting our products and continually improving the customer experience on the site.

“These highly skilled and motivated young staff are using the latest technology and sales techniques to explore all available markets and having fantastic results.

“We are continually assessing how we do business and we have been working with the Invest NI Lean team to look at all we do from a logistics point of view.

“This has allowed us to introduce a new, bespoke software package, innovative picking and packing station, new warehouse extension and we are in the early stages of developing a Craigmore App which will allow all the staff better interactions with existing and new customers.

Throughout its 27-year history, Craigmore has been selling power washers, sweepers, scrubber-driers as well as welding equipment, safety wear, workshop tools and cleaning products to both the trade and the public. In 2015, Craigmore opened a dedicated 200 sq metre Karcher centre within the premises, which stocks a complete range of Karcher equipment and accessories, with fully trained staff in store alongside a full range of demonstration equipment.

Geoff continued: “We have been a Karcher dealer for 25 years, and throughout that time, we have worked very closely with this cutting-edge, worldwide leader in cleaning technology, who consistently offer top-class performance and innovative products and training, which have always fully met both our own, and our customers needs. To be their second largest dealer in the UK is just fantastic – and we won’t stop until we are number one.

“Over the past two years, we have dramatically increased our offering of home and garden accessories for the Karcher range, stocking over 6,000 products. We monitor this week-on-week to ensure our product offering matches our customer needs.”

Geoff concluded, “We look forward to the future of Craigmore which will see us launch a game-changing project in 2018 which will transform us from a family business into a global company with customers from Craigavon to Croatia or Portadown to Perth.”

Craigmore is open to both trade and the public, at their Portadown-based site, which offers industrial cleaning and engineering products to the tourism, transport and manufacturing sectors throughout Ireland and the UK, as well as to the local domestic market.
